Job Description

Under the direction of the Control Room Engineer or Shift Charge Engineer, is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring and recording of plant process parameters throughout the plant. He will perform local operations of the plant / equipment under the direction of Control Room Engineer or Shift Charge Engineer

Job Resposibilities

The Field Operator reports to the Shift Charge Engineer and Control Room Engineer. The duties and responsibilities of Field Operator include but are not limited to the following

  1. Safe and efficient operation of the plant following the instructions of Shift Charge Engineer and Control Room Engineer.
  2. Performing duties as a member of emergency response team.
  3. Carrying out the operational preventive maintenance routines as directed by Control Room Engineer or Shift Charge Engineer.
  4. To identify, investigate and report plant defects to the Control Room Engineer / Shift Charge Engineer
  5. Updating own knowledge of the operational status of the plant including reading the shift logs and management instructions.
  6. To carryout required operations / switching, as directed by Control Room Engineer / Shift Charge Engineer, to deal with the plant emergency situations.
  7. To assist the Shift Charge Engineer in isolation / de-isolation of mechanical and electrical plant during the preparation / cancellation of safety documents.
  8. Perform plant / equipment routine changeovers as per operational preventive maintenance routines following Control Room Engineer / Shift Charge Engineer instructions.
  9. Testing of EDG, Auxiliary Boiler and Fire Water Pumps as per operational Recording the operational parameters and abnormal observations in the plant check sheets and highlighting the abnormalities observed to the Shift Charge Engineer and raising the work orders in ERP system (SAP)
  10. Participate in routine Fire Hose drills.
  11. Carrying out plant pre-start checks following Control Room Engineer / Shift Charge Engineer instructions.
  12. Be familiar with, and adhere to MPCL safety rules and safety procedures
  13. Operate plant mobile equipment like forklift truck or firefighting truck if required by the Company.
  14. Ensure compliance with Governmental and our company policy/ regulations in respect of Environmental, Health and Safety aspects and obligations
