Job Description

A Planning Engineer is responsible to prepare and gather all data and information required for effective planning/scheduling, monitoring and controlling the execution of activities of the plant using Primavera, MS Project, MS Office, etc.  They prepares maintenance plans and schedules as required by the maintenance teams.

A Planning Engineer reports to the Sr. Planning Engineer.

The following is a general list of job functions. It should be noted that certain functions that are not on the list below might be required to be performed by the Planning Engineer.

  1. Responsible for all administrative duties associated with the operation, implementation, and maintenance of the CMMS System (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  2. Preparation of the plant annual operating plans and budget based on the consolidated inputs from all the departments involve/concern i.e. Operation, Maintenance & Technical Department.
  3. Develop the annual outage program for submission to Kahramaa and track the actual outages and provide analysis on the variances.
  4. Gather and collate data pertaining to plant operating parameters and derive secondary information needed in formulating plans and program.
  5. Coordinate and prepare the activities of maintenance and operation in relation with Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
  6. Gather and collate data and derive technical information needed in formulating future plans and programs. That should include short, medium and long term plans.
  7. PMs and Standard Job Plan Development
  8. Planning and scheduling for shutdowns (major and minor)
  9. Maintains essential records and files from which management reports are prepared and distributed.
  10. Create Live Back Log reports
  11. Reviews all work order feedback and updates PMs and Standard Work Orders accordingly.
  12. Ensure compliance with Governmental and company policy/ regulations in respect of Environmental, Health and Safety aspects and obligations
  13. Perform any additional duties as required.
