Job Description
Executing steelworks machine related jobs to specification and requirements. To complete assigned tasks given in productive and safe manner. All jobs to be carried out to high industry and auditable standards that is consistent with company's Integrated management System.
1. Read work orders and production schedules to determine job instructions. Ensure those jobs are carried out as per the schedule given by supervisor.
2. Before commencement of machinery operations, carry out pre-start inspection of equipment, completion of checklists and report any identified abnormality,
3. Check materials prior to use to ensure they meet required standards and report damages when required.
4. Conduct risk assessment within areas of operation, (such as take 5) and ensure that risk (risk probability and consequence) is well understood and eliminated or controlled for the job and work area, Working closely with Supervision to ensure that operations activities are sanctioned,
5. Operate bending machine, pyramid rollers, roll press machine, drilling machine, grinding machinery-shearing machine, flange press machine, cold saw cutting machine and punching machine.
6. Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner,
7. Ensure work area preparation and housekeeping are completed safely and diligently,
8. Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
9. Prevent wastage of materials.
10. Maintains machine and reports any problems of the machine immediately to the superiors. Ili Takes initiative to pursue self-development through on-job-training/education.
11. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job.
12. Employee should prioritize wellbeing of themselves and their colleagues while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, Adhere to all health & safety protocols, participate in wellbeing & wellness programs, and promptly report any concerns regarding the wellbeing of oneself & others in order to foster a culture of best practice.
