Job Description
Direct supervision of Quality Control Inspection onboard and to monitor structural inspection and maintain traceability in Ship Building, Ship Repair and Ship Conversion projects to avoid rework and delivery of a quality service to clients.
1. Act as first line supervisor for Quality Control Inspection activities in line with the QMS standards / procedures.
2. Monitor and report any issues and delays to Foreman promptly.
3. Motivate staff to take initiative and support staff through on-job-training/education.
4. Prepare Inspection and test procedures for the assigned projects
5. Plan in process and final inspections on jobs in shop, fabrication area and on boarAccept / Reject / Suggest in case of failures on jobs.
6. Act as the main catalyst / facilitator for department's drive for continual improvement.
7. Coordinate and liaise with classification society, third party inspection agencies, ship superintendents and other trades, to ensure adherence to related standards.
8. Motivate productive and safe performance of workers.
9. Ensure all HSE and Quality aspects are met.
10. Assisting in manpower reviews.
11. Witnessing NDT activities at site, reviewing and approving NDT reports.
12. Carrying out NDT Assessment/Audit for personnel qualification and technique, and QC/ NDT Report Integrity.
13. Ensure safety standards and parameters are met
14. Prepare and maintain the necessary documentation
15. Responsible for managing the QC inspection related to Piping and outfitting for ship building / ship repair and ship conversion QC related activity.
16. Liaise with all trades to carry out the Quality control inspection smoothly
