This is a senior industrial worker job, responsible for safely fabricating, installing, maintaining and repairing piping systems and their components to a high quality & auditable standard that is consistent with the companies integrated management systems and policies. The nature of work may include project installations and repairs,  CNC & manual machine operating, automated machine welding, rigging & movement logistics, offshore afloat welding, afloat anchorage & voyage welding. However, the Pipe Fitters positions is usually focused on installing, maintaining and repairing of piping systems in a work location environment such as a vessel or rig. As a senior tradesman, a higher level of trade skill and experience is demanded and is expected to be demonstrably applied to technical problems and mentoring of trades and employees. This job may be called upon as a leading hand or senior tradesman that is required to provide team guidance among less senior tradesman.

The Senior Pipe Fitter may also carry specialized responsibility for generating drawings for piping systems and their components. Alternatively, the incumbent may be nominated to take on a quality control focused jobs as a working hand which involves workshop activities like fit up inspection, welding inspection, Non-Destructive Testing, Post Weld Heat Treatment, and pressure testing as per the project requirement. The Senior Pipe Fitter may also be called upon for specialized duties inclusive of pipe rigging.

Job Resposibilities

Key Accountabilities:

1. Construct and repair piping systems that carry water, steam, chemicals and fuel based on blueprints and project specifications.
2. Maintain, install, and dismantle all types of pipelines and fittings as required for new construction or maintenance.
3. Install, bend, cut, thread, and cut off piping and shapes and fabricates pipe to requirements for the job.
4. Inspect piping systems to insure safety and effectiveness of installations, and check gauges and metering devices for measurement accuracy of pressure and flowage.
5. Establish site visits to prepare the drawings for repair and new build of piping systems.
6. Prepare and generate the “Approved for Construction” or “As Built Drawing” as per the site visit or owner specifications for the on-time completion of repair, fabrication or installation works.
7. Prepare & issue the Process Control Sheet for the material traceability.
8. Isometric Drawing, Piping & Instrumentation Diagram & General Arrangement Drawing Interpretation Skill.
9. Closely monitor the fabrication activities to avoid any failure in the fit-up/welding.
10. Work individually as the quality boss (if nominated in a quality control role)
11. Closely monitor & Identify any discrepancies during fit-up & welding to avoid the rework and delay in the fabrication process.
12. Demonstrate work behaviors consistent with company values and work within company policies, standards, procedures and any legislative requirements.
13. Reduce production variability through minimizing re-work and optimize cost as necessary.
14. Fulfill all obligations directly related to working safely while adhering to company safety polices & procedures.
15. Set a personal example of safe behavior.
16. Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
