Job Description

 

This is a Carpenter Industrial worker job, responsible for carrying out carpentry tasks assigned in accordance with the relevant instructions and specifications, general arrangement and drawings, work orders, production schedules. Designs, constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior exterior structures made of wood. All work is executed to a high quality & auditable standard that is consistent with the companies integrated management systems and policies. As a non-senior tradesman, a high skill and experience is demanded and is expected to be demonstrably applied to technical problems.

 

Job Resposibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Read general arrangement and drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications.
  2. Design, construct, remodel, retrofit and repair interior and exterior structures made of wood.
  3. Estimate height, width, length and other proportions.
  4. Utilize chisels, planers, saws, drills and sanders to repair and erect structures; and join materials using nails, screws, staples or adhesives.
  5. Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
  6. Apply skills and knowledge and ability to ensure target production throughput rate or objectives are safely executed in line with Section Plan, KPIs, N-KOM Values and IMS system.

  7. Demonstrate work behaviors consistent with company values and work within company policies, standards, procedures and any legislative requirements.

  8. Reduce production variability through minimizing re-work and optimization of cost.

  9. Adhere to health, safety, security and environmental policies, procedures, instructions and controls for the safety of self and others.

  10. Ensure compliance to quality management procedures and controls to deliver high quality services and products.

  11. Build and repair stairs, mantles, furniture and replace panes of glass and doors.
