Job Title: Crane Mechanic (B level)

Qualification:
  • Experience in container in Container terminals and Quay cranes/ RTGs
    • Mandatory: 2 to 3 years
  • Education
    • Preferable: Diploma in mechanical engineering
  • Detailed knowledge of a wide range of mechanical equipment, diesel engines, transmissions, pneumatic & hydraulic systems, brakes etc.
  • Knowledge about lifting chain and wire ropes
  • Conversant with technical/ parts manuals, and drawings
  • Fully conversant with safety procedures

Good communication skills.

Job Description

Conduct the maintenance (preventive, corrective and breakdown) of all QC & RTGs & other related equipment’s in the most efficient and effective manner, making sure that jobs are done in the quickest and most cost-effective way, keeping in mind quality and safety protocols

  • Carry out mechanical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the crane and other related equipment and carry out the tasks assigned by his Supervisor.
  • Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required
  • Ensure accurate, up to date information is provided in the work order for input into the system
  • Attend breakdowns as reported by Staff & Equipment Control on immediate basis
  • Conduct all preventive & corrective maintenance activities meticulously and make sure all items in the checklist are complete adhering to the stipulated times
  • Ensure that emergency work is followed up by reporting to Foreman
  • Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures
  • Ensure that work order is generated (in coordination with optimization team) for all mechanical work performed on crane
  • Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity
